As a church, we are to be salt and light—Matthew 5:13-16—in our city. As light, we are to expose or push darkness back by renewing it through the power of the Gospel. Our power is in Jesus, the Head of the Church—Colossians 1:18—and He takes what is broken and redeems it by meeting people where they are and calling them out of darkness and into His light.
As salt and light, we believe that we are missionaries wherever we are. For us, that's in the heart of McAllen, in the Arts and Historic district, and our surrounding community. Strategically, we have invested in three missional pillars: Family, Education, and the Arts. We have chosen to partner with several organizations in our city to help you easily jump in and serve alongside them as we seek the renewal and restoration of our city together.
FAMILY
The church is a family adopted by God’s grace, yet many lack healthy familial support, both spiritually and physically. We partner with local organizations committed to seeing infants protected, families reunited, and children placed in loving foster or adoptive homes. Our desire is for families to experience renewal through the words, deeds, and prayers of the local church.
EDUCATION
Our local church has many educators who serve as missionaries in various Hidalgo County schools. We believe the best way to minister to our schools is by investing in our teachers, administrators, staff, and coaches who make up our body. We equip and empower them with the Gospel, providing tools and scheduling events to help them meet coworkers and students where they are in life, guiding them toward Jesus.
THE ARTS
The Arts and Historic District is home to many creatives who love using their skills to tell a story. We believe the Bible is the story and glory of God’s redemptive purposes, and we wish to communicate it thoughtfully and creatively. We do this by utilizing artistic opportunities within the church, such as the McAllen Art Walk, to share this foundational story.
OUR PARTNERSHIPS
Circles of Care
Circles of Care's mission is dedicated to helping children, youth, and families in need of social and mental health services. Circles of Care’s child placement program works with children taken into State custody due to abuse and neglect or other circumstances in which the children have been removed or lost their biological family.
