As a church, we are to be salt and light (Matthew 5:13-16) in our city. As light, we are to expose or push darkness back, transforming it, and renewing it by the power of the Gospel. Ultimately, our power is in Jesus, as the Head of the Church (Colossians 1:18) and He takes what is broken and redeems it; He meets people where they are at and calls them out of darkness and into light.
Additionally, as salt and light, we believe that we are missionaries to where ever we are. For us, that's in the heart of McAllen in the Arts and Historic district and its surrounding community. We have chosen to partner with several organizations in our city to help you easily jump in and serve alongside them as we seek the renewal and restoration of our city together.
The McAllen Creative Incubator
While we regularly meet and office out of the McAllen Incubator, we also help with on-going projects throughout the facility serving the McAllen Chamber of Commerce and our neighbors; many of these projects include facility restoration projects, electrical work, and the Art Walk.
The Art Walk is a monthly event (first Friday of the month) during the school year where local businesses and organizations, artists, and musicians participate in displaying their work for the public. We serve by providing hospitality, setting up an art gallery, and this also serves as a "First Look" for those who have been visiting or have questions about our church.
World Gospel Mission (WGM)
WGM is a local missions organization dedicated to providing affordable Christian education in the south side of McAllen. We have partnered with WGM during school supply drives, sports ministry opportunities such as soccer and volleyball, and sparrows nest--a second-hand clothing store.
Young Lives is a ministry of Young Life and their aim is to reach teen moms by entering their world, modeling the love of Christ, and encouraging them to become the women and mothers God has created them to be. Young Lives serves teen parents through life-on-life discipleship, care, and summer camp.
Safe Haven for Kids
Safe Haven for Kids provides a secure, loving environment for children in the Rio Grande Valley from newborn to 10 years of age; helping to provide a therapeutic home where children can thrive and be safe from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Enviado Para Amar
Enviado is a small organization that serves a rural colonia in Reynosa, Mexico where they provide sponsorships for teenagers to attend school, provide medical supplies, and host a weekly bible study for teenage boys and girls.
