For the last three years, we have partnered with World Gospel Mission (WGM), a non-profit organization who ministers to many migrant families in south McAllen and provides affordable Christian education, sports ministry and leagues, and much more. One of the annual events that we come together on is a back to school drive for the students at Taylor Christian School.
This event has two parts: school supply donations and volunteer opportunities. Each year that we've done this, it's been a great opportunity to not only serve our community, but pray for students and their families as they prepare for upcoming school year. We hope you can join us this August! Check out the details below:
SCHOOL SUPPLY LIST
• Gluesticks or bottles;
• Folders with brads;
• Composition notebooks;
• Loose leaf paper packets;
• Pencils (No.2);
• Scissors (blunt and sharp);
• Washable markers;
• Wide ruled notebooks;
• Hand sanitizer
Donations may be dropped off at the Incubator (display at the Connections desk) on Sunday Mornings. The deadline for school supply donations is Sunday, August 4th 2019!
**While all of the above school supplies are needed, backpacks are one of the most valuable and greater supplies we can give students
The day to volunteer is Saturday, August 10th from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and we'll be doing everything from setting up and sorting through school supplies for students as the drive will be hosted at Taylor Community Center.
